Can you tell...
Baguettes make me REALLY happy?
All kinds of breads in fact. As well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s safe to say there’s a theme emerging here.
I first discovered the joys of baking in my early twenties when I made a vic sponge for my (then) boyfriend’s mother and gained some serious family cred as a result. That was the moment I realised the key to contentment might just lie in food. And so the obsession began…
I don’t think there is anything better than sinking hands into dough, coaxing pasta into shapes and watching a meal get devoured by the people I love. It’s therapy for the soul that provides so much solace in a world where fast reigns supreme and fake ‘foods’ riddled with chemicals make up the bulk of our diets.
I’ve been baking bread for a couple of years now and never tire of watching a loaf rise in the oven. I think it’s truly remarkable what you can achieve with just flour, water and salt and believe that everybody, no matter what their circumstances, should have real bread in life, free from artificial ingredients.
